SUMMARY:Patriot Caregivers Honored with DailyPay's "Healthcare Heroes" Award
DESCRIPTION:Patriot Caregivers Yolandi Carrasquillo and Arlene Ruiz were honored this month with “HealthCare Heroes” awards from DailyPay\, a company that works with health care companies nationwide to provide visibility and on-demand access to employees’ earned pay. As medical professionals face unprecedented conditions amidst the pandemic\, these Healthcare Heroes and their colleagues work tirelessly for their communities. \nYolanda has been working in home care for the past 5 years. When talking about what it is like to provide care\, Yolandi explained\, “ “The caregiver’s job\, like others in healthcare\, is to help people\,” said Yolandi. In her case she says to be in her position\, one has to “like taking care of people. But it takes patience.” \nAlso\, Yolanda provided lifesaving care when one of her clients recently suffered a stroke at home while she was there and would have died had she not acted professionally to calm down a family member\, call 911\, and start CPR until the ambulance arrived. \nArlene Cruz who also works at Patriot and received a “HealthCare Hero” award said that her most fulfilling moment was the recent pronouncement that a client\, suffering from colon cancer\, was now cancer-free after a successful surgery and recovery – a process that Arlene was involved in every step of the way. \nHer job as a caregiver in the greater Philadelphia area involves spending most of her work time caring for and listening to clients. “I enjoy sharing moments with my patients\,” Arlene said. \nCongratulations to Yolanda and Arlene for their amazing work. Delta Family Services does incredible work and has been providing high-quality services for children\, teens\, and families for the past three decades. When the leadership team at Patriot Home Care saw that there were still a few missing items on Delta’s children’s wishlist\, we were happy to make a shopping trip with our Patriot Eagle to make sure that all the children that Delta works with would have the best possible holiday experience.
